Full description
Every family we know has the same story. You mean to put the Qur'an on. You pick up your phone to do it. Forty minutes later you're somewhere else and the house is still quiet.
That isn't a failure of intention. It's friction — the Qur'an sits three taps deep, behind a lock screen, next to everything else that wants you.
This removes the friction and nothing else. All 114 surahs, the morning and evening adhkār and a set of du'ās, in a player the size of a coaster that lives on your fridge door. Press once and the room fills with recitation. Press again and it stops. Hold it for three seconds and it loops.
Every recitation plays complete — no fades, no edits, no cuts to fit a file size — through a front-firing driver with tone holes, tuned for a room rather than an ear. The remote is in the box, so you can send it to a particular surah from across the kitchen: 18 for Al-Kahf, 67 for Al-Mulk. That sounds like a small thing. It is the difference between using it every day and letting it become decoration.
The magnetic back holds through a slammed door with a full shelf behind it, and works just as well on a whiteboard or a radiator. USB-C charging takes it from flat to full while you make breakfast, it gives about three hours of playback, and it keeps playing while it charges. It arrives charged.
It does not recite for you. It means somebody in the room is listening, which is not the same thing and we are not going to pretend it is. It has no screen, and there will never be one — that absence is the product.

Warranty & support
Two years, parts and labour, no registration. Your order number is your warranty. Covers the battery, speaker, magnet, remote and charging port.
Email salam@sakina.example and a person replies — usually within a couple of hours on weekdays.
Care & charging
- Charge with any USB-C cable. A full charge takes about 2 hours, and it keeps playing while it charges.
- Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. It is not waterproof — keep it off the draining board.
- The magnet is strong. Slide it off the fridge rather than pulling it straight out.
What it will not do
- It does not recite for you. It means somebody in the room is listening, which is not the same thing and we are not going to pretend it is.
- It has no screen, and there will never be one.
- There is no app, no pairing, no account and no microphone. It cannot do anything except recite.
- It is not waterproof.

Why this one gets used
It works because it's on the fridge
The Qur'an app on your phone didn't fail because you're a bad Muslim. It failed because it lives behind a lock screen, three taps deep, next to everything else that wants you.
This lives where you already go. Making tea, packing lunches, coming in from work. You don't have to remember it — you walk past it.
- Twenty trips to that door a day, and it is in front of you on every one
- No lock screen, no notifications, nothing on the other side of it to be pulled into
- Nothing to open, nothing to choose, nothing to close afterwards
Three seconds, start to finish
How it works
There is no app, no pairing and no account. It works the moment you take it out of the box.
-
Take it out
It arrives charged. There is nothing to download, no account to make and no network to join.
-
Put it on the door
The magnet holds on any steel fridge, whiteboard or radiator — through a slammed door with a full shelf behind it.
-
Press it
One press plays. One press stops. Hold it for three seconds and it loops. That is the whole interface.
How families actually use them
One in each room where a routine already happens
Not one device carried around the house. The reason most people end up with more than one isn't the discount — it's that the routines happen in different rooms at different times of day, and a player in the wrong room doesn't get pressed.
- Al-Mulk by the bed, pressed before the lamp goes off
- The morning adhkār in the kitchen, while the kettle boils
- Al-Kahf on the front door, pressed on the way out on Jumu'ah
In the box
Everything it needs, nothing it doesn't
It arrives charged. Take it out, put it on the fridge, press it. There is no app to download, no account to make, no network to join.
- Remote control — type a surah number and it goes straight there
- Printed surah list card, so nobody has to memorise numbers
- USB-C cable and a one-page guide. That is the whole setup.
The parts that matter
Built to be pressed every day
-
Played in full
Complete recitations. No fades, no edits, no cuts to fit a file size. A front-firing driver with tone holes, tuned for a room rather than an ear.
-
The remote is in the box
Type 18 for Al-Kahf, 67 for Al-Mulk, 36 for Ya-Sin. Choosing from across the room is the difference between using it daily and letting it become decoration.
-
Holds through a slammed door
Strong enough for a full fridge door, and it works just as well on a whiteboard or a radiator. Not on an integrated fridge with a wooden front — the box doubles as a stand.
-
About three hours a charge
USB-C, flat to full while you make breakfast, and it keeps playing while it charges. In normal household use that is a week or more between charges.
-
A four-year-old can work it
One press plays, one press stops. No reading, no password, nothing to swipe past — and volume tuned for a small room rather than an ear.
-
Nothing listening back
No microphone, no wi-fi, no pairing and no account. It cannot do anything except recite, which is the entire reason it gets used.
An honest comparison
What you get, and what you usually don't
There are cheaper Qur'an players. Here is exactly where the difference goes.
| Feature | Sakina | Typical alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Qur'an | All 114 surahs, unabridged | A handful of short surahs |
| Choice of recitation | 15 — including Ayatul Kursi, the adhkār and ruqyah | A handful of the same few surahs |
| Audio quality | Complete recitations, tone-hole enclosure | Compressed clips, tinny at volume |
| Battery | USB-C rechargeable — about 3 hours | Coin cell, or no battery at all |
| Remote control | Included — jump to any surah | Not included |
| What it can also do | Nothing. No mic, no wi-fi, no account | Pairing, apps, or a screen to get lost in |
| Try it at home | 30 nights, full refund, return postage paid | 14 days, you pay return postage |
| Warranty | 2 years, parts and labour | Statutory minimum |
| In stock | Yes — dispatched today | Frequently sold out |

Plainly
What it will not do
It does not recite for you. It means somebody in the room is listening — which is not the same thing, and we are not going to pretend it is.
It has no screen, and there will never be one. That absence is the product.
There is no app, no pairing, no account and no microphone. It cannot do anything except recite.
It is not waterproof. Keep it off the draining board.
If that isn't what you wanted, send it back inside thirty nights and we pay the postage both ways.
Before you ask
Questions, answered
Will I actually use it, or will it end up as decoration?
That is the right question to ask, and the honest answer is that it depends entirely on where you put it.
The reason this works when a phone app didn't is that it sits on a door you open twenty times a day. There is no lock screen in front of it and no feed behind it. Put it somewhere you already stand — the fridge, the kettle, the front door — and it gets pressed. Put it in a drawer and it won't.
If it doesn't earn its place inside thirty nights, send it back and we refund the postage too.
Does playing a recording count as reciting?
No, and we don't claim it does. This plays a recording. It does not recite, and we are not going to sell it as though it did.
What it does is remove the friction between meaning to have the Qur'an playing in your home and actually having it playing. Somebody in the room is listening, which is a real thing, and it is the only thing we claim.
If you want a ruling on the practice itself, ask your local imam rather than a shop.
Does it really hold on a fridge door?
Yes. The magnetic back holds through a slammed door, and it will hold on a whiteboard, a radiator, or a steel kitchen unit just as well.
It will not hold on an integrated fridge with a wooden door. If that is your kitchen, the box it arrives in doubles as a stand.
Which reciters are included?
The complete Qur'an is recited by Sheikh Mishary Alafasy. Selected surahs are also available from Maher Al-Mu'aqily, Yasser Al-Dosari and Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais. Morning and evening adhkār are included, alongside vocals-only nasheeds for children.
How long does the battery last?
Around three hours of continuous playback. In normal household use — twenty minutes here, half an hour there — that is a week or more between charges. It charges over USB-C in roughly two hours, keeps playing while it charges, and it arrives charged.
Can children use it on their own?
That is the point of it. One press plays, one press stops. There is no screen and nothing to get lost in. The volume is tuned for a room rather than an ear, so it cannot be turned up to a harmful level.
It is a household device rather than a toy — it just happens to be the rare one in the house a four-year-old and a grandparent can both operate.
Is there a translation?
The Complete Qur'an Player plays Arabic recitation only. Urdu translation is available on selected Surah Players — look for the ones marked with a translation in the surah list.
What if I don't like it?
Send it back within 30 nights and we refund everything you paid, including the postage to get it to you. We email you a prepaid label. You do not need the original box and you do not need to give a reason.
Where do you ship?
Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada, plus most of the rest of the world. Rates and timings are on the delivery page. Duties outside Australia are the recipient's responsibility.
